Light of World Alliance Ministries’ focus is the core essentials of what we believe everyone should have in their life. Our calling is to provide these needs to the less fortunate in countries that lack resources. We aim to provide aid in the following areas:

1. Food– According to the World Food Programme, The world faces a global hunger crisis of unprecedented proportions. In just two years, the number of people facing, or at risk of, acute food insecurity increased from 135 million in 53 countries pre-pandemic, to 345 million in 79 countries in 2023. Millions of people are struggling to put food on the table and are being driven closer to starvation in a storm of staggering proportions.

2. Water- UNICEF researchers state that four billion people — almost two-thirds of the world’s population — experience severe water scarcity for at least one month each year.Over two billion people live in countries where the water supply is inadequate. Half of the world’s population could be living in areas facing water scarcity by as early as 2025.  Some 700 million people could be displaced by intense water scarcity by 2030.

3. Healthcare- According to the World Health Organization Over 1 billion people worldwide are at risk of falling into poverty due to out-of-pocket health spending of 10% or more of their household budget. Scaling up primary health care (PHC) interventions across low and middle-income countries could save 60 million lives and increase average life expectancy by 3.7 years by 2030.

4. Education- The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, known as UNESCO, states the following problems with global learning

• • Remote learning initiatives, while attempted by nearly every country, often fell short as partial substitutes for in-person learning.
  • Learning losses have been substantial, disproportionately affecting marginalized children and youth. Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE):
  • Insufficient attention is given to early childhood care and education. High-quality ECCE programs are crucial for building strong foundations for lifelong learning. Teacher Shortage and Quality:
  • There exists an inadequate supply of high-quality teachers. Ensuring well-trained educators is essential for effective learning outcomes.

5. Mental health– Globally, almost 1 billion people have some form of mental disorder. The pandemic made the world’s mental health worse. According to a scientific brief from the World Health Organization (WHO), there’s been a 25% increase in anxiety and depression worldwide. Causes include social isolation, fear of sickness, grief, and financial anxiety. Health workers were also severely impacted, as well as young women and girls.

6. Housing- The Housing Shortage by the Numbers provided by Renovated a company that provides housing information. Says, first, it’s important to understand and appreciate the urgency of the current housing shortage. As of late 2022, more than 1.8 billion people do not have access to adequate housing. At least 150 million live in permanent homelessness. An average of 15 million people get forcibly evicted from their homes every year. The U.S. needs 6.5 million homes to solve the crisis, and that number gets bigger by the day. Across the pond, the U.K. needs 4.3 million homes to relieve the backlog of people living in public housing. Even countries with supposedly strong economies have not been able to solve the housing crisis.
